What is the most precious thing we could ever have?

More than gold or platinum. More than diamonds.

More than money - although money helps.

Any guesses?


Time is the most scarce resource you’ll ever have.

We all get roughly the same amount. Some of us waste it, while others invest it to achieve the incredible.

How do you use your time?

It is easy to see when we invest time in recreation, relationships, and hard work. Not so easy to see when we are spending time on activities that don’t yield results.

How often do we hear people say that they do something because they’ve always done it?

Keep it up. Quitters never win. Winners never quit.


Does that really add up? How often do you hear people say that they are too busy to do the things they want to do? Vacation. Spend more time with family. Clean out the junk drawer. Learn to dance. Too busy.

How often do you say that you are crazy busy or just can't find enough time?

Once a month? Once a week? Once a day?

Not everyone shackles themselves to their to-do list, their phone, their desk. Some people quit.

Quit the things that don’t work to invest in the ones that do.

Quit the meaningless for the meaningful.

Quit the 'not great' for the 'super, fricken amazing.'

Quit the should-do for the love-to-do.


I’ve learned one questions that blasts through ‘should’ and allows for intentional decision making.

It comes from Eric Reis’ The Lean Startup. Great book for any business owner who wants to change.

Pivot or Persevere?

Persevere on the things that work. Pivot on the things that don’t.

Persevere on the tactics that are bringing you results. Pivot on the mundane and soul-sucking activities.

Persevere on the necessary few tasks. Pivot on the tasks you know could be done better.

Today marks a bit of a change for us on the Venture Greatly blog. We’re pivoting.

We’ve spent the past few months sharing our best, most in-depth tips and techniques right here on our blog. We’ve received some great feedback, and our website numbers are up a bit. But we haven’t seen much engagement. We know we can do better.

Beginning tomorrow, we’ll be sharing weekly videos and mini-trainings. Plus, every mini-training will feature a downloadable worksheet, checklist, or guide.

Our goal is to help you thrive in changing times. We think these will offer a better way to get there. We’ll try it for the next month, and based on feedback we’ll pivot again or persevere. Personally, I can’t wait to see what happens!
